Jose Mourinho leads the Spurs to the Carabao Cup Finals
Since their League Cup victory in 2008 against Chelsea, The Tottenham Spurs have experienced a dry spell for over a decade as regards fetching another cup. This being their ninth appearance in the final of a League which they have won four times; in 1971,1973, 1999, and 2008, Football expert and columnist describes the fit to be a “massive statement” by the team.
It was a day of celebration for the team as they secured a place for themselves yesterday in a 2-0 victory against Brentford at North London.
Spurs manager, Jose Mourhino the club manager speaking to Sky Sports yesterday said, "The game was always under control. They had the offside goal, when the ball goes in the air you cannot press the ball, you just have to try to get to the first and second ball.".
Jose, who is the third of his kind to pull a fit of leading three different clubs ( Chelsea and Manchester United and now Tottenham Spurs) to the League Cup Finals, described the Spurs as a good team.
Moussa Sissoko led the way to victory with the first goal of the match in the 12th minute and Heung-Min Son sealed the deal in the 70th minute. The final minutes of the match were as intense as it could get with Jose Dasilva getting a red card.
"What I sense in the team is that desire," Jose said yesterday after the victory.
"I'm not saying a winning mentality, I'm not saying we are this or that. I just say we are honest people. Try to be serious, respect the opponents, and try to progress."
The second Semi-finals will be played on the 6th of January, 2020 and this will be between the long-time rivals; Manchester United and Manchester City at Old Trafford.
One of these teams will be facing the Tottenham Spurs on the 25th of April at Wembley Stadium. Will Jose be able to spur on the Spurs towards sealing the deal on that day? Time holds the answer.
