LAKERS STRIKE GOLD WITH MOVE FOR SCHRODER
The Los Angeles Lakers landed guard Dennis Schroder when they traded guard Danny Green and their first-round draft pick from the 2020 NBA draft to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The move will help to strengthen the Lakers backcourt some more. Schroder was an important piece of the Thunder last season. The Lakers, who are looking to build a strong roster for the upcoming season as well as repeat as NBA world champions were in the market for another star. Earlier reports said that the Lakers were looking to trade for the San Antonio Spurs DeMar DeRozan. That did not happen as the NBA draft grew closer. The Lakers expect to lose various players from last years roster such as: Rajon Rondo, and Avery Bradley. The move for Schroder will only strengthen the Lakers some more. The back court will be even stronger and younger as he is only 27 years old. Schroder has experience at playing guard as well as a small forward. He is a particularly good ball handler, shooter, and a competent defender. Wednesday night, the NBA draft took place in which the Lakers drafted power forward Jayden McDaniels from Washington. That pick was sent to the Thunder last night. The Lakers did not have a draft pick, other than Mcdaniels last night. Shooting guard Danny Green, who was traded from the Lakers to the Thunder for Schroder was then traded later to the Philadelphia 76ers for forward/center Al Horford. Danny Green of course was part of the Lakers last year, as they won the NBA championship where he served as a three-point specialist as well as a key defensive player. The 76ers are also looking to bolster their roster. The Recommended Content Widget will appear here on the published site.
